Kaliya Young doesn’t desire to spoil up Facebook. She desires to manufacture it musty.
She became once an Olympic-level water polo participant for Canada, but in 2002 became once identified with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Freshly graduated from university and dwelling in the San Francisco Bay Region, she went thru months of radiation and chemotherapy that sapped her physical energy. In her mid-twenties, a ways from home, no longer an athlete, Young felt intensely by myself.

But she dreamed of human connection. Popping out of treatment, she threw herself into activism work in environmentalism, social justice, and tech. Then again, she felt like she became once splitting up her energy. “Having my environmental activist self chopped up into pieces attributable to I’m in six organizations doesn’t fabricate sense,” says Young. “We can’t form strength that map.”
Young grew to turn out to be mad by the premise of creating unified digital identities that would scoot with out peril between diversified platforms online. “I understood how serious it became once that now we cling got to cling our cling digital selves to form actions and fabricate our communities greater,” she says. So in 2005 she began a weblog, and known as it identitywoman.earn.
