57 Absolute Best Black Friday 2019 Deals: Amazon, Walmart, Etc (Updated)

The fall and winter holidays are a flurry of activity. At WIRED, we know that you have various pastries to bake, presents to wrap, or small children and pets to pose next to large, decorative shrubbery. That’s why we did the hard work of holiday shopping for you. We spent the year testing and reviewing everything from the best portable grills to useful noise-canceling headphones. After weeks of combing the internet, we’ve found the best prices on some of the best things we’ve tried.

Note: Be sure to keep this page bookmarked. We will update it as prices change or as gear goes out of stock, and we’ll add new deals through the weekend as well. If an item is no longer at its deal price or sold out, we cross it out. Deal prices sometimes return and items come back in stock faster than we can update, so it never hurts to check for yourself.

Updated November 29: We’ve expired a few deals.

TCL 55-inch 5 Series 4K TV (2019) for $330 ($120 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

With Dolby Vision support, gorgeous 4K resolution, and Roku’s fantastic interface built-in, TCL’s 5-Series is our favorite affordable TV you can buy this year.

LG 55-inch B9 OLED for $1,197 ($100 off)

Amazon, Best Buy ($2,000), Walmart, B&H Photo

OLED TVs look better than any other because every pixel acts as its own backlight, which creates insane black levels and outstanding contrast. LG owns the OLED market and the B9 is its most affordable OLED model. The price doesn’t really get better than this.

Samsung 55-Inch Q60 Series TV (2019) $698 ($500 off)

Amazon, Best Buy ($700), Walmart

Samsung’s mysterious “quantum dot” TVs have long been gorgeous and easy to mount, but they’ve never been precisely cheap. This discount makes the technology more attainable.

Vizio 55-Inch M-Series Quantum 4K TV for $480 ($120 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

This Vizio Smart TV comes with Chromecast and Apple AirPlay built in, which makes it extremely easy to share photos, music, or stream video from your smartphone. It’s also a very pretty TV, with much of the same tech as its more expensive older brother, the P-Series (8/10 WIRED Recommends)

Vizio 65-Inch P-Series Quantum for $879 ($519 off)

Target, Walmart, Amazon

We loved Vizio’s P-Series when we reviewed it earlier this year (8/10, WIRED Recommends), and to get a 65-inch TV this great for under $1,000—that’s a great deal. The P-Series has local dimming, beautiful color, and just about everything else you’d want in a high-end TV.

Vizio Soundbar With Wireless Sub for $100 ($80 off)

Best Buy, Walmart ($98)

Vizio makes some of our favorite soundbars, and this compact 2.1-channel model is no exception. It’s a perfect (and affordable) upgrade, and the wireless subwoofer can be placed out of sight, where it will deliver a bolder low end than what you’ll get from the bar alone.

Sonos Beam for $299 ($90 off)

Amazon, Sonos ($319), Best Buy ($319)

Sonos’ compact soundbar integrates with its other speakers, making it an ideal addition for those who already love their Sonos speakers. This is also the cheapest we’ve seen the bar since it first launched.

Roku Streaming Stick Plus for $29 ($31 off)

Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Best Buy

This is the best Roku for the most people. It works with HD or 4K HDR televisions and can connect to dual-band Wi-Fi networks. You may have to check to make sure your HDMI ports are lined up correctly for it to plug in properly, since it plugs into a second USB port for power.

Google Chromecast Ultra for $50 ($20 off)

Walmart, Best Buy, B&H Photo

If you like to stream things from your phone, we love Chromecast, which lets you easily share whatever you’re watching to the big screen. This 4K-ready model from Google is our favorite Chromecast model, with support for HDR and all our favorite streaming apps.

iPhone XR for $599 ($50 gift card)

Apple

Apple’s not discounting its phones, but it is offering a $50 Apple Store Gift Card when you purchase select models like the iPhone XR. The XR, 2018’s best-selling iPhone (8/10 WIRED Recommends), is still a great option. Its range of colors make it stand out, and its size is perfect for one-handed use. The camera might not be as versatile as the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and its screen not as impressive, but it still takes great photos, and battery life is pretty good. This can be combined with a trade-in, which will net you up to $200 in credit, and you do get one year of Apple TV+ included.

Check out Apple’s Black Friday page to see what other products you can buy to nab a gift card.

Google Pixel 3A for $299 ($100 off)

Pixel 3A for $299: Amazon, Best Buy ($250 with activation), B&H, Google Store

Pixel 3A XL for $379 ($100 off): Amazon, Best Buy ($330 with activation), B&H, Google Store

This is one of our favorite phones of the year. Google brought its considerable camera prowess down to the affordable phone market. It also has good battery life too, a sore point on the new Pixel 4, and its polycarbonate body won’t shatter at the first drop. Because it’s a Pixel phone, it will get software and security updates directly from Google (the maker of the Android operating system) for three years.

Google Pixel 4 for $699 ($100 off)

Amazon, Google Store

It’s always a good idea to wait to buy Pixel phones as they’re often discounted for Black Friday barely a month after their debut. The latest Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL (8/10 WIRED Recommends) are some of our favorite Android phones because of their simple but smart software, excellent cameras, and Google’s commitment to delivering timely updates. Their biggest flaw is battery life, which will barely get through a full day of use, if at all. The larger Pixel 4 XL is also on sale (Amazon, Google Store)

Samsung Galaxy S10E for $550 ($200 off)

Amazon, Samsung

The Galaxy S10E might not have as many cameras as the Galaxy S10 or S10 Plus (8/10 WIRED Recommends), but it’s similar in many ways and just as powerful. You still get a wide-angle camera to accompany the main one for some versatility, battery life is solid, and the screen is nice. It’s a fantastic size, and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor is much more reliable than the ultrasonic fingerprint sensors in its more expensive siblings.

Lenovo Smart Clock for $40 ($40 off)

Best Buy, Lenovo

We gave this gadget a 7/10 in our review. It’s one of our favorite Google Assistant displays—unlike some similar smart displays, this one doesn’t have a camera.

Amazon Kindle (2019 Model) for $60 ($30 off)

Amazon

If you want to buy a Kindle for yourself or someone else, this is the smartest choice (read our best Kindles guide). It now has a light-up screen and looks about as good as the Paperwhite below—just don’t dunk it in your tub.

Kindle Paperwhite for $85 ($45 off)

Amazon

The Kindle Paperwhite (9/10 WIRED Recommends) is almost the perfect e-reader, though it’s not drastically different from its predecessors. It’s waterproof, supports Bluetooth for listening to audiobooks through Audible, and lasts for weeks on a single charge.

Amazon Kindle Oasis (2019 Model) for $195 ($75 off)

Amazon

The Kindle Oasis is the fanciest ebook reader that Amazon makes. It has a few more lights in it, sharper text, a waterproof design, and physical buttons for turning the page (yes, that’s a premium feature now).

Apple Watch Series 3 for $129 ($70 off)

Walmart, Best Buy ($189), Target ($170), Amazon

If you don’t need the latest and greatest wearable, the two-years-old Apple Watch Series 3 (8/10 WIRED Recommends) is still ahead of the competition, specifically when compared to smartwatches running Google’s Wear OS operating system. The Series 3 runs the latest version of WatchOS, you can track all your workouts, respond to notifications, and maintain a full day of juice before needing to pop it back on the charger.

Apple Watch Series 4 for $299 ($100 off)

Best Buy

You only need to buy the latest Apple Watch Series 5 if you desperately want a screen that always displays the time. If you don’t care about that as much, and if you don’t mind twisting your arm to wake up the screen so you can see the clock, the Series 4 is still a great option—and has the ability to detect some forms of irregular heartbeat.

Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) for $379 ($20 off)

Amazon, Walmart

It’s not much of a deal, but considering the Apple Watch Series 5 is so new, this is likely the best discount we’re gonna get. The Series 5 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) doesn’t reinvent the wheel, or square in this case, but it does bring features like an always-on display so you can always see the time without having to raise the watch. You may be able to save an additional $24 at Amazon by clipping the on-page coupon, though not all accounts are eligible for this offer.

Twelve South AirFly for $27 ($18 off)

Amazon

This is another product that made our frequent traveler gift guide. It allows you to use Bluetooth headphones with non-Bluetooth gadgets, like an airplane seat or gym treadmill.

Camera and Photography Deals

Sony Alpha A7 II Mirrorless Camera with 28-70mm lens for $998 ($600 off)

B&H Photo, Adorama

This Sony A7 II kit deal is one of the best we’ve seen this holiday. You get a great camera (albeit one that’s a few years old) with one of the best kit lenses I’ve used. No, it’s not a fast prime, but it’s better than you think. If you’ve been looking to get into the full-frame mirrorless camera system, you’d be hard-pressed to find a cheaper way to do it.

Olympus Tough TG-6 Waterproof Camera for $349 ($100 off)

Amazon, B&H Photo, Best Buy, Walmart

The Olympus TG-6 is a rugged little camera that soars where smartphones crash (8/10 WIRED Recommends). It offers excellent image quality for a small camera (complete with support for RAW images), and it’s nearly indestructible. If you want a camera that’s a GoPro-style, go-anywhere machine, but retains the lens and sensor quality of a point and shoot, the TG-6 is your best bet.

Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II for $399 ($80 off)

B&H Photo, Best Buy

This little Canon hits the sweet spot for price, features, and image quality (8/10 WIRED Recommends). It’s compact, the tilting touchscreen is a standout feature in this class, and the autofocus is surprisingly speedy.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II for $1,199 ($400 off)

B&H Photo, Amazon (no accessory kit), Adorama

Canon’s long-awaited sequel to the 6D brings a much better 45-point autofocus system, a larger 26-megapixel sensor, and an articulating touch screen. The 6D continues to be a great choice for the “prosumer”—someone who wants a great Canon, but doesn’t need the pro-oriented features of the more expensive 5D Mark IV, which is also on sale for $3,500 ($600 off).

SanDisk Extreme 64 GB MicroSD Card for $15 ($25 off)

Best Buy, Amazon, Target

You can never have too many memory cards, and you should never pay full price for them. This one isn’t the best for video, but it’s plenty fast for photos. The 128-gigabyte version is also available for $42 ($25 off).

DJI Osmo Action for $279 ($100 off)

DJI, Amazon ($269), Best Buy

DJI’s Osmo Action is our favorite action cam (8/10 WIRED Recommends) and at this price it’s an even sweeter deal. The front screen makes filming yourself easier, and the frame rates for video match what you get out of DJI’s drones, saving you some headaches in post-production if you’re combining drone and handheld footage.

Laptop and Tablet Deals

Surface Pro 7—i5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB—With Type Cover for $799 ($230 off)

Microsoft

The Surface Pro 7 is one of our favorite laptop-tablet hybrids (8/10 WIRED Recommends). There are cheaper Surfaces, but this is a good price on the best hybrid model. Be sure to grab the Surface pen as well.

Microsoft Surface Go for $299 ($100 off)

Microsoft

The Surface Go is a quirky little machine, but we like it (7/10 WIRED Review). It’s a nice size and very well designed. It’s screen is nice and sharp, and there’s a MicroSD slot for storage expansion. The cover is surprisingly nice to type on and has a good trackpad. The only downside is that Go can be a little on the slow side, and if want to do any drawing, you’ll want the Surface Pen (not included).

HP Pavilion 15-Inch Laptop 15Z Touch—Ryzen 5, 16 GB RAM—for $420 ($880 off)

HP

This is a suspiciously awesome deal on a laptop that should do just about anything most of you want to do, outside heavy video editing or gaming. This AMD Ryzen processor is a good mid-range chip. It comes with 256 GB of SSD file storage.

Apple MacBook Pro—15-inch, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB— for $1,999 ($400 off)

Amazon

This mid-range MacBook Pro is incredibly powerful next to pretty much everything but higher-end MacBook Pros. It’s got a ninth-generation 6-Core Intel i7 processor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, a 256-gigabyte drive, and Radeon Pro 555X graphics with 4 GB of video memory. This model does have the butterfly keyboard though (unlike the newest 16-inch MacBook Pro), so be forewarned that you risk running into some issues.

The top end model, which gets you an i9 processor, a 512 GB drive, and a Radeon Pro 560X graphics card is also on sale for $2,349 ($450 off).

Acer Chromebook 715—15-inch, Touch—for $299 ($100 off)

Walmart

This is one of the best Chromebooks we’ve used. It’s plenty powerful, with an Intel Core i3, and you get a 128 GB drive for storing files offline. The 15-inch screen isn’t the sharpest, but the touch features work well. It also has great battery life for those on the go.

iPad 10.2-inch (2019) for $249 ($80 off)

Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, B&H Photo ($289)

If you’re shopping for an iPad, Apple’s latest update is still a great pick. It’s mostly the same as last year’s, but we like the slight bump in size.

Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet for $100 ($50 off)

Amazon

Amazon tablets feature Fire OS, which is, well, not for everyone. It really pushes Amazon services and products. But, for $100, it’s hard to beat the all-new Fire HD 10. This is definitely the nicest of the Fire family. The new model is a bit faster, has a USB-C port, and has longer battery life than the previous model (7/10 WIRED Review).

Mophie Portable Charger for USB devices $15 ($30 off)

Best Buy

If your charging needs are limited to phones, tablets, and other, smaller devices (not laptops) this Mophie charger is a WIRED favorite. It has enough power to charge several phones (or one phone several times), but doesn’t feel like you added a brick to your bag.

Nimble Portable USB-C Charger for $70 ($30 off with coupon)

Amazon, Nimble

The fast charge on Nimble’s 20,000 mAh charger can get most devices to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. The charger can also juice up three devices at once. We love the magnetic cord holder and the eco-friendly construction and packaging. Other Nimble chargers are also on sale, be sure to use the coupon on Amazon.

Seagate 2 TB Portable Hard Drive for $55 ($25 off)

Amazon, Best Buy ($60)

If you store all your photos on Google or Apple cloud services, or on your computer, an external hard drive is a good way to have an extra backup of those memories. 2 terabytes (or 1,000-ish gigabytes) of storage should be more than enough to fit your collection, but if you need more space, there are larger drives listed below.

Home and Kitchen Deals

Sphero 2 Ring Specdrums for $70 ($30 off)

Amazon, Sphero, Target

These tiny, pocketable rings turn the world around you into a musical instrument. They were one of our favorite STEM toys of 2019.

Dyson V8 Absolute for $250 ($200 off)

Amazon, Dyson

They’re not robot vacuums, but Dyson’s cordless and modular stick vacuums are one of the most useful and versatile vacuums you will ever own.

iRobot Roomba 960 for $399 ($300 off)

Walmart, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond

We love a self-emptying bin, but iRobot’s Roomba still has a larger-than-usual dust bin capacity, a patented rubber carpet brush, and the best mapping tech on the market.

Nixplay Seed 10-Inch Digital Picture Frame for $120 ($50 off)

Walmart, Amazon, Newegg

These easy-to-use digital picture frames are a great gift for a faraway parent or grandparent. Clip the on-page coupon to save.

KitchenAid 6-Quart Bowl-Lift Mixer for $330 ($170 off)

KitchenAid, Amazon, Home Depot, Kohl’s

This is the stand mixer that allowed me (Adrienne) to prepare hundreds of pizza doughs to test pizza ovens earlier this year.

Vitamix 5200 Blender for $260 ($140 off)

Amazon

I (Adrienne) bought this blender two years ago, after I burned out the motor on both a Cuisinart and a Kitchen-Aid blender. This is one of the best prices that I’ve ever seen on a Vitamix.

Allswell Supreme Mattress Starting at $580 ($145 off)

Allswell

Use code THANKS20 at checkout for 20 percent off through December 2. Reviews editor Jeffrey Van Camp said that Allswell offered some of the best value for the money of all the mattress-in-a-box models he tested.

Helix Sleep Midnight Luxe Hybrid for $1,595 ($200 off)—Best Mattress

Helix Sleep

Use code BF200 at checkout for the discount, which includes two free memory-foam pillows. This is our review editor Jeffrey Van Camp’s favorite mattress. Helix’s mattresses have a base of individually wrapped coils that offer support in different places depending on whether you’re a back or side sleeper.

Fi Smart Dog Collar for $75 ($75 off)

Fi

We haven’t updated our dog gear roundup yet, but this durable smart collar with a light has replaced my former favorite pet tracker, the Whistle Go. Use the exclusive code WIREDBF at checkout for the discount.

Headphone and Speaker Deals

Apple AirPods Pro for $235 ($14 off)

Amazon (ships in 1-2 months)

These are Apple’s newest AirPods, and we really, really like them. A lot. The discount isn’t the greatest, but it’s probably the best deal you’ll find on AirPods Pro this holiday season, since they’re brand new.

Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones for $278 ($50 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

With fantastic sound, over 30 hours of battery life, and insane noise-canceling ability, the WH-1000XM3 are our favorite wireless headphones, period. Their only weak point is that they aren’t great at phone calls.

1More Stylish Wirefree Earbuds for $65 ($35 off)

Walmart, Amazon, B&H Photo, 1More (Enter the discount code ‘BFCM’ at checkout)

With extremely comfortable eartips, 6.5-hours of battery life, and great sound, the 1More Stylish are our favorite wirefree earbuds right now. They’re a great value at $100, but at $65 they’re an absolute steal. Read our full writeup on this deal.

Beats Powerbeats Pro Wirefree Earbuds for $200 ($50 off)

Amazon, Walmart

Until the dawn of the AirPods Pro, the Powerbeats Pro (8/10, WIRED Recommends) were the best Apple-made earbuds. They’re still pretty great for workouts, have great battery life, and they’re $50 off right now. Have at ’em.

Jaybird Tarah for $50 ($50 off)

Jaybird, Best Buy

Jaybird’s comfortable, durable headphones are our favorite headphones for running. They’re soft and light, they sound great, and the two earpieces are connected by a wire, so you can’t pop one off and lose it in a bush.

UE Wonderboom for $40 ($60 off)

Amazon, Best Buy

This tiny little speaker is rugged, has great battery life, and sounds pretty damn great for its size. Snag one for $60 off, and have a new outdoor listening companion.

Bose QC35 II Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones for $279 ($70 off)

Amazon, Walmart

Bose’s noise reduction tech remains about the best in the business, and these hyper-comfortable QC35 II headphones (8/10, WIRED Recommends) are still some of the best to travel with, offering a welcome reprieve from the sounds of the outside world.

Outdoors and Fitness Deals

Fitbit Versa Lite

Fitbit

Fitbit Versa Lite Smartwatch for $99 ($60 off)

Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Amazon

The Versa Lite (8/10, Wired Recommends) is one of the best fitness trackers you can get for your money. It works with both Android and iOS, can track everything from ovulation cycles to sleep, and unlike an Apple Watch, you don’t have to charge it every day.

Arc’teryx Alpha AR Jacket for $431 ($144 off)

Moosejaw [Men’s], Backcountry, REI

Moosejaw [Women’s], Backcountry, REI

Three-layer GORE-TEX Pro fabric blocks wind and water, whether you’re climbing, hiking, or braving the weather to shop for groceries. The hood fits over a helmet and the stiff brim deflects rain so it won’t drip into your eyes on the heaviest downpours.

TheraGun G3 Percussive Therapy Device for $299 ($100 off)

TheraGun, Walmart

Being active means you’re going to feel your adventures and workouts from time to time. Recover faster with a handheld TheraGun that massages away pain, muscle cramps, knots, and spasms. Our reviewer, Peter Rubin, wrote that he noticed a definite improvement in workout recovery after using it.

Black Diamond Pieps DSP Sport Avalanche Beacon for $225 ($75 off)

Moosejaw

If you’re mountaineering, snowboarding, skiing—any snowsport in a playground that’s also an avalanche risk—you should think hard about carrying an avalanche beacon. The Pieps DSP Sport is a relatively affordable and easy-to-use model with a 50-meter range. If you’re buried in an avalanche, it’ll transmit to other receivers nearby, and you can also use it to locate other people if they’re buried and have transceivers of their own.

Salomon XA Pro 3D Shoe for $97 ($33 off)

Moosejaw [Men’s], Backcountry

Moosejaw [Women’s], Backcountry, Zappos

The mesh uppers keep your feet cool as you run the trails, and if you happen to splash them they’ll dry out quickly. Salomon’s unique lacing system doesn’t require knots. Instead, you pull a quick lace clip that cinches or relaxes the laces for quick adjustments that won’t come undone as you run.

Videogame Deals

Nintendo

Read all our Black Friday Gaming picks.

Nintendo Switch + $25 Amazon Gift Card for $300 ($25 off)

Amazon

The Nintendo Switch is usually $299 by itself, so these bundles are about as good as we’re going to get. Avoid similar Switch Black Friday bundles featuring games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, since those bundles include an older model of the Switch with worse battery life.

SteelSeries Arctis 7 for $100 ($46 off)

Amazon

The Arctis Pro might be the best, but the Arctis 7 is a solid contender if you have a smaller budget, specifically for PC gamers. It comes with a 3.5mm cable, the retractable mic lights up red when muted, and the SteelSeries Engine app lets you control features like mic monitoring. It helps that it’s very comfortable to wear.

1 Year of PlayStation Plus for $45 ($15 off)

Amazon, Walmart, GameStop

Want to play PS4 games with your friends online? You’re going to need a PlayStation Plus subscription. The subscription comes with “free” games each month that you can play as long as you’re a member, which helps balance out the subscription’s asking price.

Xbox One S + Sea of Thieves, Fortnite, Minecraft for $150 ($100 off)

Walmart

If you don’t need to play Xbox games in the highest resolution possible (it also depends if you have a 4K TV), then the Xbox One S is the way to go. This “All Digital” edition doesn’t have a disc drive, which means you can only play digital games. It comes with Fortnite: Battle Royale, Sea of Thieves, and Minecraft pre-loaded.

Oculus Go for $149 ($50 off)

Amazon, Best Buy, Oculus

The Oculus Go (8/10 WIRED Recommends) is our favorite budget VR headset, since it needs no external devices to work beyond the one controller it comes with. It’s an affordable, complete package with access to over 1,000 games and apps. There’s a 64 GB option you might want to consider ($199), as games can quickly eat up space, but you can always remove ones you’ve finished.
