Winter can make you miserable if you’re under-equipped. You have the best intentions and keep running outside and hiking on the weekends as the temperature drops. But after a few bad trips soaked to your skivvies or frozen to your fingertips, your living room couch starts looking pretty good—too good.
Don’t let weather become an excuse. Stick with your workouts and chase your backcountry passions. If you need any new gear, take a look at these Cyber Monday outdoors and fitness deals. If some of these deals look familiar, it’s because these retailers chose to extend their Black Friday deals. So if you’ve held out for those rare Arc’teryx and Patagonia deals, now’s your chance.
Note: We will update this post with new deals as we find them. If an item is no longer at its deal price or sold out, we cross it out. Deal prices sometimes return and items come back in stock faster than we can update, so it never hurts to check for yourself.
Updated Dec. 2 to include the Yeti Tundra 35 cooler.

Insulating Jacket Deals
It’s important to stay warm during the winter months, especially if you’re planning on spending a lot of time outdoors, say, cycling. We’ve selected a few jackets below to help, but check out our guide to the best baselayers for more.
Patagonia Micro Puff Hooded Insulated Jacket for $210 ($89 off)
Backcountry (Men’s), Backcountry (Women’s)
The Micro Puff’s synthetic insulation dries quicker than goose down, yet the whole jacket weighs a featherweight 9.3 ounces. Wear it over your softshell or rain jacket when you need extra warmth to belay a climbing partner, stop for a rest break, or make camp, or wear it under your shell as mid-layer insulation.
The North Face Furry Fleece 2.0 Jacket for $74 ($25 off)
Moosejaw, Backcountry, The North Face
High-pile fleece works best for low-intensity activities such as hoofing it around town or camping because it can be too warm for high-intensity activities. Use it as a mid-layer under your shell or as a city jacket to add a significant amount of warmth to your wardrobe.
Smartwool Merino 150 Baselayer Bottom for $56 ($19 off)
Men’s: Moosejaw, Backcountry
Women’s: Moosejaw ($60), Backcountry ($60)
Merino wool is one of the softest wools and, like all wool, it’s anti-microbial. You won’t stink if you spend a few days in it on a long weekend, or at least if you do stink, you won’t have your baselayers to blame.
Columbia Dualistic Jacket for $45 ($54 off)
This thermal reflective, quilted jacket is water-resistant and features zip-up pockets. It’s great for quick walks in chilly weather. Lots of colors are on sale, but sizes vary depending on the hue you choose.
Rain Jackets, Footwear, Tents Deals
Everyone should have a rain jacket in their wardrobe for wet days, so be sure to check out our best rain jackets guide in case the deals below aren’t up to snuff. We also have a guide to the best 2-person tents so you can stay dry when making camp.
Arc’teryx Alpha AR Jacket for $431 ($144 off)
Women’s: Moosejaw, Backcountry, REI [$324 with code CYBERDEAL19]
Men’s: Moosejaw, Backcountry, REI [$324 with code CYBERDEAL19]
Three-layer Gore-Tex Pro fabric blocks wind and water, whether you’re climbing, hiking, or braving the weather to shop for groceries. The hood fits over a helmet and the stiff brim deflects rain so it won’t drip into your eyes on the heaviest downpours.
Sorel Caribou Boot for $120 ($40 off)
Men’s: Backcountry, Moosejaw
Women’s: Backcountry, Moosejaw
The Caribou’s rubber lower shell lets you slosh through snow, and the leather upper is more breathable and adjustable than a completely rubber boot. Sherpa pile synthetic fleece lines the cuff to trap heat inside. It’s not so much a multi-day hiking boot, but it’s a good choice for snowy days in town, yard work, and short hikes.
Farm to Feet Max Patch Crew Socks (Women’s) for $16 ($7 off)
REI’s Cyber Week will continue through December 8. In addition to discounts, it also includes 25 percent off a full-priced item with the code CYBERDEAL19 at checkout. Reviewer Adrienne So has these durable, thin performance merino wool socks, which are made in the United States.
NEMO Dragonfly Two-Person Tent for $292 ($98 off)
The Dragonfly 2P is a lightweight three-season tent that lands on the scales at 2 pounds and 10 ounces. Two doors mean tent mates don’t have to scramble over each other, and the poles are color-coded so you spend less time fumbling with setup.
Salomon XA Pro 3D Shoe for $97 ($33 off)
Women’s: Moosejaw [Women’s], Backcountry
Men’s: Moosejaw [Men’s], Backcountry
The mesh uppers keep your feet cool as you run the trails, and if you happen to splash them they’ll dry out quickly. Salomon’s unique lacing system doesn’t require knots. Instead, you pull a quick lace clip that cinches or relaxes the laces for quick adjustments that won’t come undone as you run.
Backpack and Duffel Deals
The bag that carries all your gear is just as important. Don’t forget to check out our guides to the best laptop backpacks and the best backpacks for college.
Mountain Hardwear Multi-Pitch 30L Backpack for $90 ($30 off)
Stay organized with internal gear loops to hang your cams, carabiners, and belay device, and a hydration sleeve to keep hydrated while on the trail or on a wall. Elastic mesh pockets on the outside hold shoes and water bottles for the approach.
Peak Design Everyday Backpack 20L for $208 ($52 off)
Peak Design’s thoughtfully designed and modular backpacks are some of our favorite work backpacks. Huckberry has a lot of great work backpacks on sale right now; we also like the Evergoods CPL24.
Gregory Mountain Products Maya 16L Daypack for $75 ($25 off)
Sixteen liters is the sweet spot for a daypack. It’s enough for lunch, sunscreen, an insulating layer, and a rain jacket, plus a few more small items, without weighing you down. There’s a hydration sleeve that’ll hold a three-liter reservoir and—uncommon for a bag of this size—two side pockets that can hold water bottles if you’re not a CamelBak person.
20 Percent off Mission Workshop Gear
Mission Workshop’s bombproof bags are cult favorites. Use code MW-2020 for 20 percent off online, a $20 gift card for future use, and a free bag of Bicycle Coffee (for the first 1,000 orders) through midnight on December 2.
Patagonia Black Hole 55L Duffel Bag for $97 ($42 off)
If you’re into martial arts such as Muay Thai or Brazilian jiu-jitsu, you know how much room all of your gear takes up. This bag’s water-resistant, 900-denier ripstop polyester is tough enough to survive scrapes and abuse, whether on the subway heading for the gym or on a weekend camping trip in the backcountry.
Outdoor Gear Deals
If you don’t see something to suit your needs below, check out our best camping gear guide for more.
Black Diamond Solution Harness for $52 ($18 off)
Men’s: Backcountry, Moosejaw
Women’s: Backcountry, Moosejaw
Wide, contoured leg loops make the Solution one of the most comfortable harnesses for long afternoons at the climbing gym. Four gear loops hold all the equipment you’d need for sport climbing. It’s just as useful on rock walls if you want to move to outdoor climbing later on.
Goal Zero Nomad 7 Solar Panel for $50 ($30 off)
If you can’t bear to be without your phone, camera, or GPS in the wilderness, you’re going to need some way to recharge it. The Nomad 7 is the bigger version of the portable solar panel that we recommended in our backcountry gear guide. It will charge most USB and 12V devices at a 7W output, and it’s relatively compact and lightweight at 12.8 ounces, too.
Suunto A-10L Compass for $15 ($6 off)
Still made in Finland after all these years, the A-10L is an accurate and reliable compass, but also easy for a novice to use for navigation. Its markings are to 1:24,000 scale, the typical scale used in US Geological Survey Topographic Maps.
Coleman Portable Butane Stove for $13 ($17 off)
This portable camping stove can support up to a 10-inch pan. It doesn’t come with a butane cylinder, but it does come with a carrying case for easier transportation.
REI Co-op Hydro Flask Water Bottle for $16 ($17 off)
This 0.6-liter flask keeps its contents hot or cold, whether it’s tea, coffee, or water. It’s made of stainless steel and it’s BPA-free, and it’s intentionally narrower than other flasks, ensuring it can fit in most car cup holders and water bottle cages on bicycles.
Rad Power Bikes RadRunner for $1,199 ($100 off)
If you want to ditch your car, every dollar counts! This is our favorite electric bike for the average bike commuter. We also have a full review here.
BioLite FirePit Complete Kit for $242 ($88 off)
Gather around the FirePit for drinks and toasted marshmallows, or attach the included grill to cook up burgers and dogs. It’s a (mostly) smokeless portable fire pit that burns charcoal and wood. The kit includes a poker to manipulate logs while the fire is burning, a heat-reflecting mat so you can use the FirePit on a deck or patio without scorching them, and a carrying case with a built-in solar charger for recharging the airflow unit that eats up the smoke.
BioLite HeadLamp 330 for $40 ($10 off)
BioLite, Backcountry, Moosejaw
BioLite’s headlamps weigh a feathery 2.4 ounces and fits flush against the forehead so it bounces around less when you’re moving. The headband is a moisture-wicking synthetic fabric, and there’s a flood lens (100 lumens) and a spot lens (230 lumens).
Black Diamond Pieps DSP Sport Avalanche Beacon for $225 ($75 off)
If you’re mountaineering, snowboarding, skiing—any snowsport in a playground that’s also an avalanche risk—you should think hard about carrying an avalanche beacon. The Pieps DSP Sport is an affordable, easy-to-use model with a 50-meter range. If you’re buried in an avalanche, it’ll transmit to other receivers nearby, and you can also use it to locate other people if they’re buried and have transceivers of their own.
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter for $12 ($3 off)
LifeStraw is only 2 ounces and takes up much less room than most water filters. You use the LifeStraw by leaning down and drinking straight from water sources. Its 0.2-micron filter removes “99.9999 percent” of bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli, and just about as many protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium (trust us, they’re not pleasant). It’ll filter 1,000 liters of water before you need to replace it. If you’re going camping, bring one of these.
Serfas E-Lume Bike Light Combo for $75 ($25 off)
Having a forward-facing light on your bike is a good idea, but don’t forget about being seen from behind. Serfa’s combo includes a headlight that burns 600 lumens bright and a taillight that shines 60 lumens so you can see where you’re going—and make sure others see you, too.
Callaway Women’s Strata Plus Complete Golf Set for $264 ($66 off)
This right-handed golf club set features 10 clubs, a stand bag, and three headcovers. The set is perfect for beginners since the clubs are lightweight and forgiving. This price matches the best we have seen previously.
Wilson Men’s Profile Platinum Set for $280 ($93 off)
Both the regular carry and tall carry versions of this set are on sale. The graphite shafts are easy to swing, while the low center of gravity won’t hinder your distance. Similar to the set mentioned above, this set is pretty basic, but it’s a good option if you’re in need of a starter set of clubs.
YETI Tundra 35 Cooler for $187 ($62 off)
Temperatures may be falling, but it’s always a good time to pick up a Yeti cooler. Dick’s Sporting Goods is offering 25% off of most of the Yeti lineup for Cyber Monday, but the Tundra 35 is a good all-around cooler to have on-hand.
Fitness and Health Gadget Deals
Fitbit isn’t your only choice for a fitness tracker. Check out our best fitness tracker guide for more.
Fitbit Versa Lite Smartwatch for $99 ($61 off)

Track steps, distance, active minutes, heart rate, and calories burned so the Versa Lite can suggest ways to perfect your workouts. You can also track ovulation cycles, set reminders to hydrate regularly, and wear it at night to measure your sleep quality by recording how long you sleep and the amount of time spent in light, deep, and REM stages. We gave it an 8/10 WIRED Recommends earlier this year.
25 Percent Off Site-Wide at Klean Kanteen
Skinny enough to fit a cupholder, Klean Kanteens are made of stainless steel that is tough and lightweight. Early last year, Klean Kanteen began powder coating them for better resistance to chipping and wear. We picked one of their insulated models as one of our favorite travel mugs earlier this year.
JAXJOX KettlebellConnect for $199 ($100 off)
Rather than a whole lineup for kettlebells of different weights, the KettlebellConnect is a single shell that comes with a set of weights that attach and detach inside it. Change weight in six-pound increments, from 12 to 42 pounds, with the push of a button. Track your workouts and set goals through the JAXJOX app by recording reps, sets, time, weight, and power. You can also pair the KettlebellConnect to the Apple Health app on your Apple Watch or iPhone.
Garmin Venu for $300 ($100 off)

Being active means you’re going to feel your adventures and workouts from time to time. Recover faster with a handheld TheraGun that massages away pain, muscle cramps, knots, and spasms. Our reviewer, Peter Rubin, wrote that he noticed a definite improvement in workout recovery after using it.
15 Percent Off $50 or More at Koala Clip, Plus Free Shipping
Nowhere to stash your phone when you go for a run? Yeah, exercise clothes aren’t known for their pockets, and armbands can drive you crazy when they slip. The Koala Clip is a water-resistant, zippered pouch that holds your phone and clips inside the back of your sports bra, between your shoulder blades, so it won’t bounce around as you run, bike, or work out at the gym. Our gear reviewer, Adrienne So, says it’s the most useful piece of running gear she owns. Catch this site-wide deal through December 2.
TRX Minimal Fit System for $75 ($25 off)
Huckberry, Dick’s Sporting Goods ($70)
Use it at home or when you’re traveling—any time you’re away from the gym but don’t want to break your exercise routine. The TRX needs only a door jam or another solid anchor, such as a tree or a fence, to attach straps that let you perform exercises using your own bodyweight for resistance.
Bowflex BXT6 Treadmill for $900 ($900 off)
The 7.5-inch LCD screen lets you choose from nine pre-programmed workouts. You can also plug your phone in via USB, or connect via Bluetooth, and it will also sync with Google Fit, Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, and UA Record apps. Shipping is free, as long as you order online.
Nite Ize SlapLit for $10 ($2 off)
